What's the best battery for a DII V8

Mine went flat while camping at the weekend (A kind Hilux owner helped out) and it needs replacing, but I want one with a lot more grunt but something that wont upset my System. It's got the factory issue in it at the Mo.

Also Was Quoted $720 from ARB for Duel System with small 400 AH 2nd battery.

    What are my options.

I got the Bosch BN70ZZ from SuperC...................

Seems to do the trick ................but I don't have a load of 'toys' (compressor, fridge etc.,) hanging off of it.

I am thinking of popping a dual system in.

Stick a factory TD5 battery in it, from memory the orig has a CCA (cold cranking amp) of 520, the TD5 has a 700+, this will just replace with no modification. Just remember the factory battery in the D2 is a Lead- Calcium, if u put a Lead-Acid battery it will cook it as the charging system in the D2 has a higher output. So just be carefu,l have seen a few batteries explode in their casing-not pretty-leaves a great mess.

    Hi
I have a CAT grader battery in my TD5 Disco,it is the next size up(physically,a tad taller wider and deeper) than stock, fits fine,it is 800cca from memory.
RE the lead/calcium battery issue.A mate of mine who is a Landynut and is an auto eleccy, with his own shop says the need for the lead calcium battery is a myth.Yes the D2 will boil an old cheap underated standard battery, you only need to buy a good quality normal battery rated at the correct cca.It will handle the D2 charge easily.

    Have a look at www.supercharge.com.au - there's a PDF with all details.

I think there is also a post somewhere on this forum about getting discount on Supercharge batteries???
