That's on the later ones - and can be a problem.

I think I will just have to buy two of those RTC3511 seals and pull it apart to see for myself.
On my March 93 build date Disco and on previous RR Classics I've owned, there is no cap on the end of the drive plate/flange. So that's not a problem on the earlier set up........you just make sure the gasket under the end plate/flange is really good or better still, use a GOOD quality RTV silicon to make a good oil-tight seal here.;)
I'm pretty sure that the dust cap is on versions where LR switched over to the inferior swivel housing method of "lubed-for-life" grease and also had no drain or level plugs on swivel sphere housings. ;)
