Only experienced the Bruce Davis one as that what was in mine when I got it. Wow is all I can say. The local dealer mechanic also told me he would not be able to tell if it was chiped.
Tombraider I know you can`t flog your ware`s here in the public forum, but can you PM me your details and some links to any info you have on your upgrades, I am coming back to OZ next week and might bring my ECU with me, for an tweak.
Does Bruce Davis have a website or is he only contactable by phone.
Thanks

I have the Bruce davis upgrade.
It is a much nicer vehicle to drive,, most noticable when towing. very comfortable to drive now(no more auto box hunting for the best gear under heavy load).
LR dealer told me that they would be able to tell if it had been reprogrammed,,, but they would have to go looking for the changes. on my model, Dec 01 with the 02 chassis number, the ECU is flashed and there is no immediate flag to signifie an ECU flash
.. but driving it is a bit of a give away

I have not noticed any real differance in fuel consumption. Unless I really use the chip to its fullest,,![]()
If the program is correctly flashed and correctly written the checksum is untraceable by a stealer...
However, should they drive it the differences are obvious!
For the record, my upgrades run around 140kw/440nm....
I back up the original mapping prior to upgrade so can be restored, I provide Injector codes and faults stored to the client for their records.
Should you have an issue I offer to tweak the mapping to your needs for no charge for first 2 months...
Upgrades or transfers to other vehicles (eg, upgrade from 2001 to 2005 model) at greatly reduced pricing....
And, should you have my upgrade and drown your vehicle/blow up your ECU, I'll upgrade the new ECU for free. (Something others dont do)
The ECU out of my Defender 90 is on it’s way down to Tombraider at the moment to have the upgrade done.![]()

When I get back in a few days time I will let you all know how much improvement to expect. Should be quite impressive in a 90.
Tombraider check your PMs.
Anyone know Tombraiders email address or phone number(please PM it to me), I have tried this email address and it bounced.![]()

bit of a hoon :-D leaving a bit of rubber on the road. With the
weight of the camper trailer on the back I give the car a gutt full
and start spinning wheels. The MTR's really love to squeal! I recon
the car would go like a rocket back on 29" tyres.
Cheer to all, I'm relaxing on the sunshine coast now for a couple of
weeks.

Cant ask for better feedbackHi Mike,
My car is still going good and fuel consumption has improved. Before
the upgrade towing the camper trailer consuption average was
16l/100kms. After the upgrade the fuel consuption average has dropped
to 14.6l/100kms. Running around the Sunshine Coast without the camper
trailer the fuel consumption has dropped to 10.6l/100kms(previous
best was around 11.6l/100kms Hwy running) NOTE: This is all with 32"
tyres.!
Any one looking for some more grunt and better fuel economy I can
recommend this ECU upgrade.
So far on this trip I have done 10,480kms, used 1548l of fuel, at a
cost of $2,175. Total average fuel consumption is 14.8l/100. I will
be heading back over West this weekend via Birdsville.
