The vacuum unit is held onto the distributor two screws.
The actual instructions from Rave In the Workshp Manual/Electrical Section/Overhaul/Vacuum Unit states.
1. Remove two screws from vacuum unit securing bracket. Disengage vacuum unit connecting rod from pick-up base plate connecting peg. Withdraw vacuum unit from distributor body.
It doesn't say but replacement of the new one would be a reverse of the above

Performance ignitions in Norcal Road Nunwading does rebuilt units for $60.
The reason the Disco ones fault is the diaphram persishes, pommy rubber is not real good in the Hades tempes developed in a Disco engine bay.
Their change over ones use a better quality rubber diaphram.
I got a reco one from a dealer once for $140 supply only , it lasted 6 months only.
I've had the Performane ing one now for 3 years without problems.
Very easy to fit.
Just got mine (ordered yesterday lunchtime) from http://www.advancediaphragmoptions.com/ he sent it in express post bag and he includes a reply paid air bag too for the faulty unit ! all for $65 + $30 deposit, not bad service considering he is in Caboolture and I'm in Melbourne !!
Now I just need to work out how to fit it, can't find any nice picture instructions :( only can find what "ladas" says from the RAVE manual.
In regards to doing it :
I'm I right in saying that you need to pull the disty cap off, then the rotor and then the cover under the rotor to get to the vacuum unit connecting rod ? I'm also guessing it might be an idea to go and buy a new rotor, as I remember it is a pain-in-the-ass to get the rotor off, and it is usually easier to break it off than pull it off ?Quote:

I'd be interested in this as well.
Are the screws holding the Vac. Adv. a torx head? "Appears" as though they may be from initial looking. If so what size?
To get to the air cleaner side one the dizzy would have to rotated. Has anyone attempted to get at the locking screw in the block? Easy peasy. NOT! :(
i have fitted one in my old disco...i live in Blackburn here so gimme a PM if you want a hand doing this.... it is easy.....

get a genuine rotor, the cheap(ish) ones play up heaps...
The Rotor should just be a lift-up removal, if not a little help from a flat bladed screw driver under the rotor at the shaft should help, the 2 screws should be phillips head No1 and only about 5mm long.
