I haven't driven 1000km on the new head. It has spent more time in the mechanic's workshop getting stuff fixed up after the new head than it has on the road.

If it was a TD5 I would have said check the cooler. I got about 1000km out of mine after the rebuild to suddenly have oil problems. Oil cooler failed and in their wisdom it's a job lot with the housing so is worth $1100 from land rover.
