Well here is my two bob's worth. The Holley 350 is a general purpose carb. Can be fitted and jetted to almost anything over two litres up to say four and a bit. The Holley 500 is a performance carb. Don't expect good fuel economy. The four barrel Holleys are popular with the hot rod and drag racing set because the jet blocks are easily accessed so changes can be made quickly and easily. A Rochester Quadrajet is a very, very, good carb, complex, but once set rarely needs attention. It is, in fact, better not fiddled with. Get one from a 253 Holden and should be a bolt up fit if you have an appropriate manifold which should be available from speed shops.Originally Posted by rangieman
