They also happen to be very handy in picking up the presence of small children and animals - that you have no way of seeing in a large 4 x 4.

    I don't think that's at all femine.

They're a great idea and real cheap these days, Supercheap, DSE and Jaycar all stock these devices, for not much $$$$.

My wife (and I) would like a system that goes two ways, so it can yell at all those 'nice people' who leave their 'signatures' across her Falcon when it's left parked. It's had a lot of hits over the past year, (yes I know the old joke, had more hits than Elvis......)

Now if only they could come with hi power laser death rays as an elective option....

If my daughter was anywhere near the back of a car unsupervised then that would be my failing as a parent, not the drivers fault that he couldnt see her. If you cant reverse park a car then you shouldnt be allowed to drive ! The worst is the school mums in their lc's and playdoh's.

A useful thing whn parking is the reflection from shop windows. You'd be surprised how close you can get to the car behind.

I saw this bloke looking at me one day and wondering what the heck was going on. It was obvious to him that I wasn't looking in the mirrors or out the back. I was looking across the road at my reflection in the window. I think he was surprised I didn't hit the car behind.

those blardy things are too easy to depend on and you become lazy to do proper mirror and head checks.... as an example, you can hit a strategically placed bollard (one that sits convenieintly between the sensors). A friend (female) has managed this three times in her merc (with 4 genuine sensors across the bumper)... needless to say, the husband is sick of the repair costs!

reversing cameras - another story, much better IMHO.

Thanks folks, ladas, I had a look and could only find a set for $70. Is this the same type you have.

I will have a look at the other locations, DSE and so on.

I’m actually only interested in the type that beep because to run cable from the back of the RR is a bitch of a job, but as I must be a girl, I will just have to pull up my skirt and get on with it.

Fairdinkum, you dinosaurs make me laugh. If there is any new device installed in a vehicle then it’s for “ girls “.

cartm58 honestly, just cause your father knew exactly how much horse power he had, cause he had horses doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t take advantage of the new devices that are available.

If you think we shouldn’t, then you and BigJon should remove your rear vision mirror cause they were not on older vehicles and for that matter, shouldn’t cut your roof off cause that’s been add, and so on.

I think it’s time for you lot to catch up to the real world.

Cheers and thanks again and don’t mind my rant, I think it must be that time of the month. See you girls.

I am well and truly in touch with the real world. Why can't people have some SKILL instead of relying on technology?
