Any damage to be done ?

wondering if it is possible to remove my centre muffler for just a couple of weeks and just run a straight bit of pipe instead ? centre muffler is in pretty bad shape and i have all ready removed the resonator from the back after banging it up . Any problems in just having the straight pipe ? >> apart from being loud !
Spent some serious money on keeping the old girl running in the last couple of weeks and just cant afford a new muffler right now. Any help would be appreciated Thanks 94 D1 v8i

A V8 Will love it, as you said it will be loud. No problems to be had as far as the motor goes.

No engine, mechanical or electronics/engine management issues .......it's just gonna be F*****G LOUD!

I don't think you'll be able to drive it on any public roads without attracting the boys in blue though!

just stick a hotdog on there--

but if you go with a straight pipe,,

have someone hang out the back and take a vid WITH SOUND!

not much between the valves and the outside world on BUB91,,

Thumbs up A Cheap n Easy Exhaust System for a V8 RR

For a cheap n easy muffler try one that suits a Holden V8 late 60's to late 70's [Kingswood type,NOT Commodore type I think] for 2" or 2 1/4" or 2 1/2". They're cheap, common, easy fit etc

It's nearly always cheaper to have a system made up by a good Muffler shop/business than to buy one to suit your vehicle .........a good muffler man can make up a system using single 2 1/2" pipe, single large capacity centre muffler[as above] ...... you don't really need a rear resonator -and you won't scrape it on extreme angles!....."Hot dogs" aren't much use as a muffler [in the centre] and you don't absolutely need a resonator at the back.

How loud are Harleys???!!! They seem to be legal? A disco without a muffler wont be half as loud surely.

Was sort of hoping that someone or a few people might have had centre muffler off and just running straight pipe so i could get there feed back on how it sounds

I have a straight through muffler (no baffles) and no rear resonator on my Rangie and I reckon it sounds fantastic. Still quieter than my Holden 5 litre with twin 2.5 inch pipes with straight through mufflers and hotdogs.

well today i took the centre muffler off and i wont be without a centre muffler for very long , loud loud loud !!!! definately not to my liking , want that nice v8 note but this was just ridiculous , thought the windows of the shops i was driving past would shatter ! Going to put a muffler on again and sooner the better i think , any ideas of a good muffler to go with ? something that still gives the v8 a nice note without the mrs having to sink low in her seat to hide . so live and learn i suppose hey !!
