I had this problem on my D2. It was the plug going to the resistor pack not properly seated after having R&R the blower.

If you head yourselves over to the jaycar catalog they have this magical doovie that is a kind of switchmode powersupply

Its for doing variable speed control on 12v Dc motors...

now Id be thinking why not replace the switch and resistor with one of them?

................but surely that would just be a switch with an integrated resistor pac ??????????

    ...................wouldn't it ?

.........or a variable resistor , which , in my view, wouldn't last long in the auto environment.

could be totally off track here, but I don't think so

Not sure of the price - but shouldn't be too expensive < $100.00

..........and it only takes 20 - 30 mins to do

The exact kit I was looking for is no longer stocked but from this years catalog number kc-5382 Motor speed controller.

Should do the same job, costs $25 singley and you will need to repace one component for adjusment, which is simply a case of removing the trip pot and installing a variable resistor on a fly lead.

Alternatively you could use the existing switch on the facia but put 4 light weight resistors off of that in place of the pot..

Instead of varying the voltage to the motor it varies the duty cycle, which means no hot resistors to die on you.

Ive used the earlier model kit for wiper speed control in an old holden and so far as I know its still going.

    http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView...Max=&SUBCATID=

should get you to the right place.

The big brother kit (original) is still available kit number kc5225 same price but if you add a second component zt2450 you can run 20amps worth...
