    Just out of curiosity.......

Since Im going in for surgery in about 5 weeks time and wont be able to do anything for about 3 days while Im on con leave how many of you would be interested in the modules IF I make em up for you?

to have a WAG at it you would probabley be looking at about $20 worth of additional parts to make it from a single speed controler into a variable controller with a remote pot on it...

From opening interpretation of the supplied wiring diagram earliers you will need to do the following to get it to work correctly....

    1. Electrically insert the unit between the supply relay and blower motor.
    2. Replace the fan speed control switch with a double pole single throw switch rated at at least 12v10a and the controlling resistor of the unit
    3. install at least one extra earth.

the second part of the WAG would be youd get the lot for $50ish prior to postage and handling and depending on how hard it is to get to the loom maybe 90 minutes to install it.

Hi Ladas, how do i get to the part and where under the dash is it? Do i need to pull anything off the dash to make an opening for access?

The only thing you have to remove (apart from the part itself) is the panel under the glove box on the passenger side.

From there it should all be plain sailing

While Dave is laid up for three days anyone want some revenge I can go visit and rough him up a bit
My Defender aircon switchs on the fan and blows but the compressor and the thermo fan don't do jack, the clutch doesn't engage but the pulley is turning..but being a brickie the heat don't bother me too much its the phuking flies that give me the ships.. I suppose I will just get some aircon person to look at it so he can tell me the comp is stuffed then off to the wreckers for a similar replacement...As LR will probably want Thousands for OME thing.

It would be my guess that it's either

    1.The fuse
2.The gas has leaked out causing the low pressure switch to disable the system
    3.Faulty pressure switch
    4.Loose connection/earth

At an ouside chance it may be the clutch itself - but they are pretty robust.
