The transfer case isn't in neutral?
Ron
Sounds like either a broken axle, centre diff, transfer case or similar, if there is no park. Park is generally operated off the park pawl thingy and will operate independant of the rest,
Please peform this check for alot easier analysis
1. engage centre diff lock
2. does it move??
Thanks for all the reply peoples, it appears the mainshaft gear is stripped, if this is the case it will be a fairly easy fix apprently, I will find out on wednesday when I can get down to where the vehicle is. From what has been said the mainshaft gear is not lubricated properly and if the vehicle has slop in the transmission (which mine did) and it has been towing heavy loads (which mine has been!) then it is ripe for failure, I will not be able to post until next week but will inform a to what has happened
When you replace - make sure you get the later cross drilled transfer case input cog/gear that slides on the mainshaft.Quote:
