Thanks for the offer Phil......or do you mean "fix it for good" ??

I might wait until your gearbox is sorted first .

It was a bit fiddly loading the solder onto the component & holding it in place with 10 thumbs but the new little soldering iron worked a treat. I was greatly surprised after all this that the remote still worked. I don't mind soldering wiring & terminals but PCBs are a different matter .

Thanks to all those who offered help & advice .

    Now, to the next job........

Scouse u need some flux and a hot air tool with a fine heat output
I have a wella pyropen junior with a modified tip that will do it...provided u dont stuff up the tracks if u do it.
the part looks like a resistor or capactor pack

Ron yes I probably could repair these. I can do the normal everday car ones provided they are not butchered.
I have done some classic ecu and air sus ecu repairs with 90% success.

I believe the creeping issue is sorted but I've been hearing conflicting stories about the sticky selection problem.
We have a new technician who seems to think he knows everything........he declared the gearbox issue as "normal" .

More like too hard for him to fix than normal me thinks .
