disco idling and heating

the -ve connection is just below the solenoid of the starter motor.

and yeah, its more than possible it was overfilled. normally i do overfill the other cars ive had but i guess the overflow vent pipe handled it . on the disco theres only one way out , through the vent hole in the pressure cap i guess.

My '93 Disco started doing this too and it turned out to be exactly the same problems as dullbird's.

Had the radiator rodded which fixed the overheating problem ( now shows slightly below 3/4 no matter whether I'm towing boat, heavy traffic, whatever) and took off the airflow meter and cleaned the contacts and that stopped the high/low idling, stalling, etc.
