I've thought about a set of them, but as JDNSW says, they are pretty expensive and not really required for my kind of driving etc. I have upgraded my headlamps though, with Cibie H4 inserts, and 130/100 globes. I relayed both high and low beam, and ran seperate earths from globe plug straight to a good earth point. All wiring supply to the relays are overkill, and soldering all joints is mandatory. This was a vast improvement over the original lamps, the previous owner had put 100/55's in and no relays, the light was dull and spread from the Lucas sandblasted lenses was useless.
Anyway, IF I fit bigger driving lamps,( I still have the Hella rallye 1000's that came on the vehicle) I'll be going LF for sure.

Would have to agee I find it hard to think about spending $400-$500 on a set of lights but I was lucky they were on when I got the rig. They have survived a roo strike but were replaced due to the breathers failing. They no longer do the breathers due to this problem and even without proof of purchase they were replaced.

Does anyone have these 240 Blitz fitted to a D2 on an ARB bar, preferably a Sahara bar. Not sure whether they will fit, and if they do whether they restrict too much air flow / cooling.

I have 240 XGT on my Defender 130 with a tjm Bar. The bar is very narrow in the middle and they stick out a litttle to the front. They pretty much take up the whole space in front of the radiator. I was a liitle worried at first and monitored everything very closely and I have had no problems what so ever.

I have the aftermarket Davis Performance intercooler and it hasn't been affected at all. No discernable loss or power of increase of temperature.

I wouldn't worry about them hitting a roo, after all they shot them with a shot gun in testing to see if they'd stand up and that didn't have any effect.

Try to look past the rolled Nissan in the picture and you'll notice just how hazed the lenses are on Ians 240's.
These lights are 4 years old now. Combine them with harsh middle east UV sunshine and some pretty severe sand storms and you'll think twice about buying them.... I did!
Granted..the covers are replaceable...at a price. I went for IPF's with glass lenses...superb lights. They aren't as 'white' as the LF's and don't have the same spread. But they'll probably last longer. I only remove the lenses when going off road so don't foresee me having a stone break the hard glass lenses whilst travelling fast during the day.
A couple of guys in the club have busted Light Force's by driving for too many hours down the wash board gatch tracks.

Great performance lights but I don't think they keep their performance as well as IPF's or some other well manufactured lights.

Smile Good lights I agree with all..

    And tough!
Being a little foolish and misjudging the speed at which I could enter a mates drive, I managed to "nudge" the power pole next to it. The right light force copped it. A little of the rim where it sticks forward of the lense was cracked (easy fixed) and I cracked a filter, but what amazed me was the substancial metal metal mounting tab on my ARB bar was bent back/down by the lights pressure, yet the plastic of the light body and mount, transfering the force, was FINE!!

My only worry with the 240s would be radiator blockage on a smaller vehicle.

I have light blue covers, they cut down the glare on long trips and the reflection off signs. One is a spread beam cover, one is plain. Better this way when cornering off road.
