Thread: Vulnerable bits!

Over the weekend I removed the factory-fit side steps (aka running boards) from the Disco and a thought crossed my mind as to the exposed nature of what looks like 2 expensive pieces of kit nestled next to the chassis members. One is a Wabco product (so I assume ABS or similar), and the other one looks like some kind of valve/regulator set-up for the ACE.

I've noticed already that the plastic Wabco box has a couple of gouges out of it from rocks/branches (I guess)...

Would be interested to know if anyone has ever damaged these components whilst out adventuring, or if anyone's fashioned some protection for them?

One is the ACE valve block, the other is the air supply unit (compressor) for the suspension
