    Tick tick whirr whirr FIXED

    Just to spread the good news, the esteemed gentlemen at MR Automotive in Redcliff, in particular Jason, have fixed the tappet tick with a dose of 20w40 or heavier oil and by bleeding the ACE pump have made it acceptably quiet.

    I'm........ Overjoyed.

    Many (9) have tried. All but MR have FAILED.

    I have a very very very low opinion of dealer service.

    It just makes such a difference when your vehicle of choice doesn't give you the absolute S***S.

    What was the nature of your problem? Was it a tapping/"futting" noise, a little bit like you would get if you dragged the edge of a piece of paper along a plastic comb?

    I have the same noise, and I thought it might be a small hole in the exhaust somewhere, as it only happens when under throttle, and gets louder the more throttle you give it. If your problem had the same symptoms I might re-assess....

    Nope it was a distinct Tick tick tick.

    You'rs does sound a bit exhaust like. They do blow gaskets and this has been looked at on mine.
