Well done, I hope mine goes as smoothly...
Also known as a "pink slip". Had this done yesterday, passed without any questions, although I was a little apprehensive about one tyre - going to have to replace a tyre soon, actually three of them, but one is worse.
I had added some Lucas power steering fluid conditioner to the steering, and this has reduced the leak enough that it did not raise eyebrows. The only other work I did with this test in mind was to reshim the front swivels and change the wiper blades.
Brake test results gave a peak of 73% and pedal force of 55 N.

I got my safety certificate yesterday - all good. The QLD transport people had to go back three times to check the vehicle. The chassis no on the safety cert was different to the vehicle by 2 digits and the compliance plate said "seating cap (blank)". This resulted in a lot of back room conferencing and sweating on my part. It eventually go registered.

My vehicle (1986 County-Isuzu has one more digit on the VIN than the authorities say is possible or allowable, but the rego. documents faithfully reflect this so sometime in the past some bureaucrat has allowed this. The REVS people can't/won't do an encumbrance check on it as they say this is not a correct VIN as it has one too many digits. I offered to drive it to their office for a supervisor to eyeball the chassis, the compliance plate, and the rego. papers. No way. The compliance plate says it is a motor omnibus, 9 seats. The rego papers say 5 seats. Who cares.

After I moved to NSW from Victoria, they registered my County as five seat not 9 seat, like yours. They also denied that a nine seat existed. Eventually, after I sent a photo of the compliance plate and the Victorian registration to my state MP, they got me to come into town to check it - and changed it to 9 seats. What is more they paid the invoice I gave them for my time and mileage to get it changed.Originally Posted by Brian Hjelm

I was told by QLD Transport that it couldnt be an omnibus and there must be as mistake on the VIN plate as an omnibus has to have more than 12 seats.....
I suspect that state definitions may vary (and have varied with time) - although NSW accepted after actually seeing the plate (which they had seen and taken the number off when I moved from Victoria) that it was described as an omnibus, it is not registered as such - the threshold here is 10 seats, and brings along with it the requirement for six monthly inspections - and I think these have to be by the RTA not a garage. Fortunately mine only has nine seats.Originally Posted by mark2

G'day Folks
My old Series 2a G.S. is regoed in Qld with it's full compliment of troop seats, it is regoed as a Mini bus 11 seater, body type minibusstrangest looking "Coaster" that I know of

My 87 110 was registered as a 9 seater in NSW by the PO, then a 9 seater in QLD by me and is now registered as a 9 seater in WA. I have never had any problems with the VIN, apart from the original (NSW) rego having a 2 recorded as a Z (or maybe vice-versa)...
