Aight.
It's fixed. Sort of. My wheels are like eggs so I'm told by the guys at tyrepower Bulleen. I'm still a little baffled but it's much better.
So as mentioned above everything in the front end was checked and adjusted or replaced. As this was done there were slight improvements but the most noticeable improvement was the wheel balance.
Why am I baffled? Well I drove the vehicle with the wheels unbalanced for maybe 1000k's without any real trouble. Dont ask why. The point is I didn't experience any severe wheel wobble (just the usual vibration common to unbalanced wheels) until just recently. I can only assume that the unbalanced wheels prematurely wore out panhard bushes/steering dampener and put excessive wear on swivel pin bearings leading to the steering wobble.
However as you will have read above these things were fixed and the wheel wobble was still evident until after the wheel balance.
So what did I learn. Simex tyres are a pain in the ahhhssse. Cheap sunraysias are just that.....cheap and nasty. And for a variety of reasons, not just this episode, I think I will get rid of the 35's and go back to a more relaxed and comfortable 33" MT.
Cheers
