Batteries: What is the difference between MCA and CCA?
I've just got two nice shiny CAT batteries for the Defender. Due to freight issues I couldn't get 2 identical ones as they only had one of them in stock.
The first battery is a CAT 175-4370 835CCA, 100Ah Deep-cycle, dual purpose MF battery. This is my main starting battery
The second (cause they didn't have 2 of the first) is a CAT 250-0480 Marine 710CCA, 888MCA, 100Ah Deep-cycle dual purpose MF battery. This will be my Auxiliary battery.
Now I understand marine batteries tend to be built for more complete discharge (i.e. more aligned to the Deep Cycle) but what is the difference between CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) and MCA (Marine Cranking Amps)?
