No - I don't think so. The chassis numbers the first few digits tell you whether it is 88 or 109 and LHD or RHD etc , and I'm sure the engine numbers don't reflect this. Similarly the suffix letters don't correspond between engine and chassis.Quote:

The 109 and 88 S1 were introduced in September 1956 and was replaced by the Series 2 in April 1958 with the same wheelbase, although there were no Series 1 109 station wagons - the 107 continued in production until replaced by the Series 2 some time in 1958. As early production S2 88s retained the S1 engine, there is clearly some blurring of the changeover, and in fact although it is easy to distinguish between the 1958 S1 and 1958 S2, there were bigger changes during Series 1 production than in the change to Series 2.Quote:

I have a 109" S1 - I htink.
It has the same grill profiel as the earlier S1. THis is my only clue so far..
