Be gentle with me, first time post. is this the one you were interested in?
this photo was taken in July, just out of Katherine.

Thanks John Yes it's mine, done about 40 000km since build up.Use it on the farm and as a tourer, seems to do both really well.If anyone needs any info I can post some photos of tricky bits.keep in mind D1&D2 body profile is different, and Mazda panells would have to have changes made.Originally Posted by Bush65

Man, that conversion is a cracker!
I'd love to know all the tips on doing it, what parts, where to cut, etc.
Reckon you'd have time to fwd over pics, etc, of the build up?
Well I guess that negates teh need for me to hurry up scanning the article
Welcome to AULRO Roversmith. As you can see, there are a lot of fans of your ute in here
How is the 90 ute mentioned in Robert Peppers (RMP on here) article going?

Phoenix the D90 ute is almost finished. Because it has changed from a wagon to a ute, means an engineer's report. I will post some photos when time permits, drought has taken its toll on spare time projects. seem to be full time feeding livestock or trucking water. Hope to have it at wandin 4wd show. up2nogood have sent you an email with phone number and will try to post photos in members rides section. The rear of cab is made up out of two mazda B1800 ute backs, because they are not big enough you need to cut and join to get both the width and a larger back window. Photo will give an idea of whats involved. side profile is almost a perfect match for a D2 but wouldn't be too much effort to change it to match a D1. Chassis has 500mm added gives it a 120 inch wheel base. If you don't know how to use a mig or tig welder, you will by the time you are finished

[p s any jeep fellas reading this, yes its engineered]

Hi Roversmith
New member here so most prob doing it all wrong...lol
Just seen your white Discovery 'ute' (crossing a stream)...looks fantastic.
Any chance getting more info/details of the convertion?
I have a loved old '94 200 discovery with only 70,000 miles on the clock and have been thinking of doing something like you have.
Thanks for any help and advise.
Regards
Tony
Hi Roversmith
I saw your ute in Katherine at the woolies car park. I think it was your wife - poor bugger must have thought I was a loony looking it all over when she walked up, then I asked about a million questions.
Unfortunately due to being on a very tight time frame I couldnt hang around to catch up with you. It's a credit to you and your metal working skill.
