Thread: Discovery ute conversion

There are a couple of places that sell fiberglass kist from memory, however the white D2 was a home done job. I've got a copy of the article that featured in the overlander magazine if it is of any help. To make it look right the chassis was actually extended, which is quite a job. That said, by brothers Range rover ute is just a 2 door with the roof cut off, although he needs to tidy up the rear wall and window.

There's an article on Page 74 of Nov 2006 issue of Land Rover Owner International you might like to look at......a Disco Ute with lots of alloy treadplate.

Hmm, the brothers conversion ain't as neat as that white one.

Haven't seen the white one you're talking about but must say the Brothers one is a tidy bit of work in the flesh... looks like a factory job... and his black one is a very nice design too

The white D2 conversion is so good you would be hard pressed to pick it as non factory if you didnt know landy's.

Its a fun process.

The hardest part is the alloy skins and weldig ect.

The rear body section is a pain around the fuel filler as it has a different panel line.

Its also hard to make the top around the roof nice - otherwise they look good as.
