If you're just checking & adjusting, that's pretty much all you'll need other than some thread lock on the bolts. If you're going to dismantle, you'll have to replace the oil seal on the back of the hub (where it sits on the stub axle).

I have checked the W/M & various other publications & Google but, I cannot find any reference to the repacking of wheel bearings frequency.

Is it 1 million km or something? It doesn't get covered in mud or water & ****e (I know I know, "Why did you buy a Land Rover then?"):D:D

It's not on the Maintenance Check List, or not that I can see, unless it's in a general sense, but certainly not as "Repack Wheel Bearings.

Had the same problem with my defender ended up replacing rear drive flanges and axles , fixed my problem by tacking the seal out of the axle tube behind the stub axle allowing the diff oil to find its way into the bearings and drive flange just like the series models which I never came across this problem in:)
