Bugger.
I need a shed.
Looking at Mickellys Lightweight last night threw me off!
But the fact remains - a sacrifice now (etc etc).
Ill go over all these pages on the weekend - I think I have a fair idea of the way forward - I like the idea of being able to stop.
No issues with the slave cylinders / servo being to powerfull for the 2a?
-
If the Ser3 is an original 6 it will have the 3'' wide front drums(normal is 21/4") that would make for some very good brakes for a series.
All these posts have got me thinking,I reckon I may start looking for an 88" and put all the good bits from my TOY into it.          I can hear the missus now:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

The more landies the merrier. I keep looking at this series one on e-bay. its very cheap. And the dogs would love to sleep under it in the back yard. Problem is I would have to aswell.

series 1 :o oooooh.
The 2a has DiscoDuck wheels. I don't like them, they are too modern.
I have 4 series ones on the exMil. to get a 5th is it a standard S3 rim? I checked RMELR but..
if so easy to get?
Mr.mickelly you have a lightwieght, that SHOULD be enough for a grown man
But I am beginning to know the problem..

Hey WiliamB have you posted pics of these landies of yours yet? if you have I have missed them. Got a link?
-
It never happened without pictures. :p
But serioudly pop along to Salisbury wreckers they used to have a few series vehicles lying around. I would be very suprised if they couldnt fix you up with a spare wheel.

No fillers!
I installed a Nissan TD27 turbo diesel 2.7 into a S2a SWB amnd put in "Rangie" difs 3.54 and only when it was finnished discovered that there were no filler holes on the diff centres like the old 4.77s. Ended up jacking up the side and pulling a half shaft to fill with oil!
As no sound deadning in the S2a it was very loud. Phone useless could not hear ring or feel vibrate let alone talk. Went very well though. left S2a g'box in. needed to install demister to get past engineer and rego.

I like the noise...good for the long trips with the missus:D
cheers

yes - I stopped in the street and crawled under a rangie (as one does) and saw that filler issue!
Looks like I can get a good price on a high speed transfer case, and by the time I have got the diff's, got a recon, got a filler braised in bah, blah It will be nearing the cost of the machined case....so that's my one big buy.
I'll get some photos up tomorrow so you can see.
Hey - I REALLY like the Bar tread tyres (on the remlr site) Legal? stupid?
-
Go the hi speed transfercase,it wont effect your low range.3.54s and big tyres would be asking a little much from the 2.25lt!!!
