so if mine is a 2 wire then i cant have a 3 wire how can i get the jerkyness to stop ??
replace the TPS is the easiest option...
Im not sure if it will work but you could pull the TPS apart and clean it up with electrical contact cleaner..
mate landrover brought out a updated engine ecu for this specific problem. I have experienced this problem on numerous td5's,and after fitting the ecu it rectified the problems. Just out of curiousity was it a 1999-2001 model? Hope this helps.
Hi Darren
I would get the ECU read for faultcodes for starters.
I have a "flat spot" problem in my TD5 disco, the intercooler hoses have gone really soft, almost jelly like. You give it a boot nothing much hapens then it winds up and goes, can give the feeling of lurching, but not that I would say kangaroo hoping.
Fitting a new set of intercooler hoses on the weekend, will let you know if there is a change/improvement.See if you have extemly soft hoses, its a common TD5 fault.
Goodluck
Andrew
sweet thanks mate
