new engines for 2006 transit, will the new fender cop one of these?

    Hi

Reading about the 2006 transit, and looks like theres new engines to suit. 2.2& 2.4, wonder what will end up in the fender, and will it be the new generation duratorq motor?.

    Cheers Sumo.

    duratorque is go

    Sumo,
The dura torque is the one going in. The 2.4 TD one. It was in LRO late last year, they got a drive in it with a six speeder. Dont know of any specs cause it was in that funny horse power talkish.
The fender had a buldge in the bonnet instead of the indent and the front pop out vents were there but only cosmetic not operational........
Nice interior with ford claiming the aircon to be 20% more colder and the heater like 40% hotter or better (can't remember about that one). The dash is all new with no more aircon at the knees, with it now being at chest height.
    cheers

Can't be soon enough, the way mine is going I'll be seriously looking at an upgrade. And it'll be competing against the new V8 Troopy.

Thanks Mate, dunno, I've only been driving it for a couple of days so I think I'll let it go for a while and see what happens!

I have spoken to one of our courier delivery drivers with a '06 transit LWB van, he has had it up to 160 and still accelerating, it uses almost no fuel, and it is almost as quiet as a Merc CRD diesel. His is the 6 speeder, and if it is as good as they sound, I think it would make a good Defender engine. The only serious problem is it may have a smalll F**d badge somewhere on it...

A small screwdriver should be able to fix that.
