I recon if a isuzu 2.8 turbo diesel(4JB1) would fit in it then thats wat i would like to use cause i know they r a bloody sweet motor. i jst dont know if it will fit in the engine bay ?? does anybody know how i could find out ?? would i have to change the whole gearbox and transfer from land rover ??(cause the one in there is perfect it never spits outta gear i have never had trouble with it so i would like to keep it) Regards Adrian
This is possible, just tell me where, when and what you need. As for the series well obviously I cannot tow it at the moment but a trip up north was planned and could still be possible.
I'll still will be sad to see it go, I had some big plans for that little car.
Anyway back to the thread, I was really impressed with the Isuzu MU that went out with us the other week, 3.0L TD isuzu from a jokaroo I think. One of those in a series would be a rocket. Personally though I've always wanted Hemi power in a series
I wouldn't get a jackaroo 3.0 litre engine, a number of serious problems have been reported with it and not sealt with. Injectors was one, can't remember the rest. a few guys on the Overlander forum had some big issues.
G'day Folks :)
The 200 Tdi will fit in a treat and bolts straight up to the Series box, it has been recommended to me to use the 2a box and transfer, the later one with the inlarged intermediate shaft;) the motor stud pattern matches the bell housing, exept one extra hole, can be used with or without turbo, non turbo still gives heaps of grunt, close attention would need to be payed to the Radiator (pressure cap) as the Series is 10LBs and the 200 Tdi is 16LBS+ I think, but that is only a minor thing engineering wise. Engine mounts match, but you would have to use Diesel mounts. Hope that is of some help:)
cheers
200tdi, isnt there issues getting parts?
Dunno:o My choice is the 4JB1 outta a rodeo but i dounno if it would fit how could i find out ??
