    SS350HF (non ABS)
njz, I have the SS350HF on my '95 tdi and the diagram shown for it is missing part of the ducting ..... The snorkel enters the engine bay just infront of the washer bottle, through the flexi coupling and then into the missing bit. The duct is moulded to avoid the washer bottle, goes under the air cleaner duct, moulded around the engine side of the shock tower and then enters the airbox from the engine side.

Does the air box get moved?
    No
Does the air box still get modded with a cap where the ram was?
    Yes

    or is the picture wrong?
    Sort of ... incomplete
Got any photos of a non-ABS V8 or TDi engine bay with one installed?
Can do photos later if req.

I finished my install last night, the hardest part was squeezing my hand up into the guard between the plastic splash guard and the inner guard. Scratched the buggery out of my arm and pulled a few muscles, i found the outer mounting holes were slightly out my template but i fixed that by srew the studs in then marking with texta and pushing it against the template to re align the holes. It may be my imagination but i feel it has slightly more poke since the snorkle install ? Next job is the pirahna dual batt i took out of my old rangie, then fit the gme TX3400 and then and then .........

Made a big difference to the power when I fitted mine.

in relation to the abs non abs........

when talking to the garage that fitted my airtec..e said when they order them for people they always order the abs one....as it doesn't really matter which one you have as long as you have the square airbox...

maybe they are just easier to fit i dont know or space wise maybe its just safer to order that one

Having just changed the plugs on my V8, I think I might get the ABS version as the duct on the engine side of the air box might make changing the plugs a PITA.
