I am thinking of upgrading the whole whole braking system in my 300tdi 130 as mine are getting increasingly spongey.

Braided sounds like a good partial solution - what else can people suggest and who is good in Sydney to get it all sorted?

Has anyone got braided lines on their 130 and which brand did you go with? any traps for young punters to watch out for?

The Goodridge ones are off road use only.

So if you have an acco and it's your fault, then an insurance assessor spots them you have no insurance.

    www.braidedhoses.com.au have road legal ones.

Got a quote for my Flandie (just to see what the costs are - if I mentioned the old SII they probably would think SII DISCO) form CEBCO

    Anyway, here is the reply:
Your vehicle has 2 front hoses and 2 rear hoses.
To make these as a braided brake hose they cost $95ea.
To make them 2" longer - no extra charge.
Add shipping cost of $16 per order.
    $40 sounds like a bargain!

25 pounds seems like a good price for the three peice pack I'd need.

Are they ADR compliant? Goodridge is sold in Oz too so I'd presume so.

Yeah i have a set for the 90 . Bougth a set for the 90 when i left the UK. Did not put them on as the ones on the truck are fine and was going to use these as spares for the trip around aus and replace when needed. Hence to say they are still sat in the parts box in the back of the car unopened. Another reason i did not fit them is i knew the car would have to have a check before getting rego in Queensland and they said on the internet they did not like Braded hoses. Not that , that would stop me from fitting them now.
will fit them when i get round to it

But all in all i would buy them from the Uk good hoses and bloody cheap compaired to here. And they come in packs for which ever truck you want them for
Can buy them on the internet too . post world wide. Just go to UK ebay and search land rover brake lines

The site I looked at had an on road version and an offroad version.

Braided lines are legal in Qld but haven't been for too long. 2 years or so perhaps? They have to be made be approved ones though which is what concerns me about buying from the UK.

As above - I doubt the Goodridge hoses have AUS standards approval. The UK "construction and use" regs are pretty lenient anyway aren't they?
