As said no Td5's in USA. However it may still work with the Lucas ECU. The unit is CAN-bus and OBDII compliant with European cars (meaning ISO as apposed to SAE OBDII codes). What it most likely won't do is talk to BCU, SLABS or EAT ECU's so all you will get is any engine fault codes.

The main thing most of the US vehicles need a unit for is to clear the Engine Service light.

Only one way to find out....

I'll be interested to hear how it goes.

It has I/M testing - and whist there were a few things it didn't couldn't read there were many they it did.

Give me a mo and I'll see what it does test.

    We that didn't take long.

The protocol it connects to mine is ISO, and apart from reading, and giving you the ability to erase the fault, it goes into I/M and on mine it read/checked the following

    Misfire
    Fuel
    CCM ??
    CAT
    EVAP
    O2s
    HO2s

It does not seem to read/check

    HCM
    2AIR
    AC
    EGR

Sounds like it only talks to the Engine ECU then. Still it obviously does more than just list/clear the fault codes.

    No idea what CCM is

I'm all TLA'd out today though.

I have asked SWMBO for one for my B'day. It will at least work on her ford so if it doesn't do the TD5 it's not a total loss.
