Oil Cooler Hoses, now 3rd time in 10 years

If it helps in the short term, what our bloke ( Hi Nigel) does is cuts the swaged ends off, modifies 1/2" pushtail fittings by drilling them to 13mm, (a space around allows silver solder to sweat in well) inserts the original cooler line end(Cut off and cleaned etc) into the fitting and silver solders it on. This means you can just lube up the 1/2" blue HiTemp line and push it over the barbs of the pushtail fitting. Meaasure the length accurately, because after the line is on, you can't pull it off short of cutting it off. Use new O rings on the other ends and re fit. I actually bought these fittings once from a hydraulics supplier, and tried to make my own. Way back when my silver soldering techniques were pretty average(!) so I trashed that idea and hid the results in the big blue Collex filing cabinet outside....Then rang Nigel.:D :D

I'll get some actual fitting numbers for you, then give them to your bloke.

If they are not prone to failure I guess it's just an annoyance if you are the type that hates any form of leaks not matter how small.

More than an annoyance, My front diff is absolutely covered in oil. And with this hot temperature we are experiencing, I'd hate for it to blow and leave me with a cooked engine out of oil:mad:
Also a pain in the asshole to undo that piddly little hose bracket that holds the 2 hoses together underneath, have to be a little handed contortsionist:o

Justin, What kind of price should each hose end up costing?

And might be asking a bit much, but would anyone have photos of the modified EnZed hoses?

I charge $120 per hose including GST, after I get charged for the callout and his time and parts to do it. This includes O rings but not fitting and degreasing. Fitting usually takes about half to 3/4 hr and could be longer if the MESS is bad!!

They look similar to standard ones, except soldered fittings and blue flexible hose.

Factory ones are about $150 each, and will leak eventually and aren't repairable easily like these now are.

A good thing to do as a preventative too, as the factory ones WILL leak, its just a matter of time.

OK, Here are the numbers for the hose bits,

the hydraulic hose has a part number of: 836-8
The 'Pushlok tails' have a part number of: 39982-8-8
The se*y little yellow finishers for the hose are: 590126-8 ( Not really required, just look finished)

Hope this helps but AFAIK these numbers would only be useful to Enzed stockists/ repairers.
