The other thing to check on 2 doors, is the internal cross brace buckles where it attaches near the lower hinge, where it has a large hole in it!
This happenned on my 76 model and the door dropped quite rapidly as the metal around the lower hinge cracked and distorted, but easeily fixed by welding in some reinforcements to the brace.

sorry to drag up an old thread but I thought it was better than starting another new one - my doors are about 1/4 inch too low and they do close but if you put weight into them only.

my 81 2 door has a large spacer under each hinge at the bottom of the door, a good 1/8th inch thick, so should I just look at new hinges all together, there doesn't appear to be any warping visually of the frame/panel the hinges bolt onto on the car itself.

but I must admit I have no idea what I am looking for or what this pin is your all talking about

New hinges are about $45 each so shout yourself a couple !

I am happy to buy new hinges, but the ones on the car now seem fairly solid and don't appear to have much play at all, or is that just because they are under a fair bit of weight?

Is it the hinges which cause the door sag on 2dr range rovers?

The doors are very heavy. I have seen the car lean when you open one door.

I am happy to buy new hinges,

just got 4 in a couple of weeks back but they were in with a order with other stuff but it works out about or just under the $45 mark
