HI
That tyre wear prob i posted about, turned out to be a stuffed tyre!!.
very slowly but surely the centre was rising like a cake in the oven.
Had the front end checked out cdL etc, everything was ok, could not see a thing wrong with the tyre until a couple of days ago, and then all of a sudden the steering was all over the shop.a monster lumpappeared off to one sideof the tyre. Bloody dunlops
although the tyre company was pretty good about it , replaced it and gave a good discount on another one so as i start off with two newies on the front again.
So wonder whats next
Cheers Sumo.

So much for the sages of the forum, don't think anyone picked that option.

The local mechanic had an F100 in for work last week.As he walked past it the spare sitting on the tray exploded,he **** himself, luckily it was the opposite side of the tyre that blew.I saw the tyre/rim,11r15 Desert dueller with plenty of tread, blew out bigtime in the tread 6" dia hole.

Amazing, Glad its solved. I would've thought a tyre would have had a bump bump bump associated with it too, especially at low speeds.
Always suprised at what happens with automobiles!!Thats what keeps it entertaining.

I would have **** myself too!!. Years ago i was travelling across the hay plains towards Mildura Vic, in a valiant ute doing on a average of 80-90 MPH, when we got close to town & travelling in a built up area i could hear this thumping through the steering, when i investigated there was a lump that big on the tyre it was hitting the tie rod end!
Scary!.

"Yes, and as I said, its difficult to visualise anything that would give even wear on one tyre and not the other. Which does seem to bring it back to perhaps a tyre with soft rubber compound? Check whether that tyre is getting hotter than the other on a run, after making sure pressures are exactly the same."
Maybe not quite what I said, but along those lines.
