I got the Lucas/TRW fronts from a specialist on Wednesday for my 92-3 Range Rover.
Have done about 200Km and they are bedded in and silent.
They are heavily chamfered , but no split down the middle.
They are quiet and seem to have good bite with not much dust.
Cost me $95.01 incl GST with sensors from English Auto Parts at Tuggerah who claimed they are now what LR supply.

Some are softer & work better when cold...
Some squeal...
Etc...
I use genuine pads as IMO they do a really good job in all situations...
As for the fluid, you can actually check the condition of the fluid using a volt meter.

I entirely agree for general use GENUINE is best all round;) ........but I did have a very good run a while back with EBC (brand) green coloured Kevlar types;) .......haven't been able to get them/seen them lately though.:mad:Quote:

Nope... I did actually mean a volt meter!! I haven't used the technique for a while but IIRC old fluid gives off a couple of volts... Or is that new stuff?? Either way, I remember being shown it at the Technical Academy.Quote:

The problem with EBC pads is that they vary too much, batch to batch. Was warned off them by one of the development engineers at DBA. His general recommendation used to be Ferodo. Had a very good run out of the Ferodo 4WD pad, and the discs look excellent.
