    Aircon belt squeal

Have had this issue since new, occasionally when I start up hot or cold and switch on the AC it "squeals like a pig, boy." Switch off and switch on and its fine, however as I was running around today with AC on it started squealing on gear changes, whats the likely diagnosis??Belt seems fine, as does tension, or should I just stay outa Deliverence country?

Try a can of belt grip from super cheap, as a short term fix - but I'd probably replace the belt anyway.

    Hi Crump
Belt grip is a waste of money, rub the belt with a candle, works the same!!!!
Dont do it with the motor running!!!!,doing it to a hot motor works best(wax applies better). Both sides of the belt as the tensioner runs on the smooth side(a guess!!!)Start and stop the motor a couple of times to get to fresh bits of the belt,no need to get100%,the wax will travel.
I would tighten it a tad, more than likely your problem.

Try reversing the direction of the belt. Fibres get pushed in the opposite direction.
Could still be a bearing though.

You could buy a Banjo, just a thought.

If it's doing it whilst changing gear and in neutral (when the engine is not loaded) is the belt the correct one or slightly elongated? Does it still squeal if the AC is off.

Take the belt off and check for shiny spots I had this for 4 belts trying to get one that would last more than 400km. Supplier kept getting some cheap All4wd or something belt that was too long but labeled as correct size. Stick with LR genuine or Dayco or similar and your OK.
