I think the difference between marine and normal bearing greases is the marine grade has better anti corrosion qualities and may not emulsify as much with water ingress?????
hi all, i have my grease gun load with marine bearing grease is it ok to grease the fendies nipples with it, i figure its better than not doing it.
thanks all.

Go for it.
The only difference you will notice will be on your hip pocket
ie its better, but do you want to keep buying it?
Agree entirely. Use the marine grease, suspension, steering, uni-joints, swivell housings, the lot. Mainly for its far superior water proofing capabilities. If you play in puddles, use your water-proofs, like mum said. If you dont play in puddles, use it anyway. I heard a rumour it might rain this year.
Shorty.
Likewise, just greased the Defender last weekend with marine grease. I also smear it on the centre of the wheel hubs on the Disco to stop the alloy's sticking to the hubs.

As everyone says - no downside except cost, but not really any advantage except in very wet conditions. As someone said - it may rain, but even then unless doing a lot of deep wading it won't help.
One thing worth noting though (not just marine grease) is that some types of grease do not mix well, and failing specific information (may be on the cartridge) it is a good idea if changing grease types to make sure you replace all the grease, not just add it. Probably most important for wheel bearings.

there is a downside, most marine bearing greases, at least the good ones are a calcium sulfonate base, whereas most chassis greases are a lithium or lithium complex base. The different soap base will react, unless you purge all the old stuff out when using the new stuff.
