I think mine was about $120 with some other bits. Bought a steering guard at the same time.

I made my own diff guard - cost about $5 and about an hour with a welder and grinder.
Speak to Dranged on this site, he has some clever diff gaurds that also protect steering rods etc (depending on model) Also does sliders, bars etc for Land Rovers.

Link to his info. I have no affiliation with Dranged other than he is in our club and for the record I have a Graeme Cooper diff gaurd, very good, but wish I had seen Dranged before as his have a bit more to them.....no idea of price though, but pretty sure he has some ready to be dispatched.
Good luck and also I would suggest your steering damper wont last long with a hole in it:eek:
Aye, Mick
P.S. If the link doesn't work then his details are, Justin 0414 901 799 or 0755 908 338
I couldn't access it either.
Thanks for the info guys. I'll make some calls next week.
I have the Graeme Coopers diff guard, best $120 I ever spent. It's been on 3 of my Rangies and taken a ****load of punishment.
Trav
I would suggest the QT guards, I have the ones that cover the bottom too, sort of mini-sliders.
bolt on, pretty tough too.
your diff will be fine, if it had contacted the crown wheel the crown wheel would have eaten tha casing by now and it would be leaking oil like an upside down bucket.
Id remove the damper and hand check its movement, if it slides without binding its ok if not replace it before it breaks and fouls on something.
