    Cool What is this????

Behind the left front headlight there is this black plastic thingey, it has one vacuum tube to it, a 3 pin plug and another 2 wires going down to the aircon tube, at a sensor. is this needed or can it be thrown as the aircon funtions
    without it?

    Many thanks Chris

Regardless of what car it it is it sounds to me like the Vacuum reserviour which may have a vacuum sensor in it that may then go to the High pressure switch for the aircon.

I dont know why these would be connected but it is a Landrover im assuming and that being said electrically they do some strange and wonderfull things.

The Vacuum Reserviour is there to hold vacuum while the engine is at low vacuum conditions as in High rev situations like lowrange hill climb etc.

But then again it is only there so that your heater controls will work all the time and not much else, as long as the vac line is blocked off then there shouldnt be a problem with running the engine although if the vacuum sensor is in there then it could play havoc with the ECU if it has one.

    What car is it?

The reason you ask is it because you would like to add a dual battery setup if so just move it and extend the wire,s and vacum line,s

From the vague description it also sounds like the Cruise Control Vacuum pump, but I could be wrong.
