The base price for a grind seems to be $110 to which some have added time for taking the wheel and caliper off.

if you take the rotors off youself and take just the rotors to be machined it should cost around the prices mentioned above......
if they have to remove them for you then you will have to pay for the labour to remove and refit them.......
I'd thought of removing them but they all talk about "on car machining".

The $80 I paid to have the job done on the Falcon was at our local Ford dealer.

I just priced machining for my D2. The cost was $50 for the pair of rear discs. That was from ABS and they have 2 stores in Canberra. And that price was only if I removed the discs and brought them in to them. If you want them to do it all then I would think that $110-150 would be about right.
Unfortunately the discs were undersized for me so I had to get new ones which were $100 each.
1x six pack of jim beam and coke... but you gotta ask me real nice and get the discs to me.
Thanks for all your advice and offers of help. The job needed doing straightaway so it went to the lowest bidder - $110 for a mobile guy to do it on car.
High prices are one of the great features of living in Canberra!

I do my own. Bung 'em up in the lathe, 4 jaw chuck, and pipe centre usually does the job. Measure them first as a disc below minimum thickness technically renders the vehicle unroadworthy. Clean and pack the bearings while they are off.
