SubscriberJust got home from Brissy after getting MR to fit new Bilsteins and King springs to the Defender, unbelievable, body roll is almost non existent and it corners like its on rails.Lift is around 38mm but it feels much higher from the drivers seat, originals had done 50000kms and were stuffed, felt like it was going to tip over in every roundabout, not anymore.Cost was around $1250 fitted, best money I ever spent.

mate bit pricey but thats the go with the bills i just did a 3 inch lift on a rangie with lovels coils and procomp shocks cost 750 for the springs and shocks and i fitted them in like 3 hrs and much the same effect minimal roll handels like a train and the shockies do a great job on the rough stuff ...

Agreed. Nothing wrong with the Pro Comps, but you get what you pay for when it comes to shocks.Originally Posted by incisor
Got Koni's myself, I prefer them as I can adjust the dampeneing (got mine set on 1 and this is perfect dampening for the Rangie). Got them second-hand as they were like new when I got them and have been put through a bit of punishment over the last year I have had them fitted. Probably another few years of punishment so I'm not whinging.

Subscriberthat also included a Billie steering damper, labour cost was stuff all, as I also had a new injector harness fitted at the same time, total labour for both jobs was $250, seems bloody reasonable to me.

You'll find some loss of articulation with the King's but then the ride on rough dirt track/road is great isn't it
...and that's always more than half the trip!

before pic in the above thread, and after here.Bump stops clearances are now 90mm front and 115 rear.Thats with a draw system full of tools, fridge and hand winch and recovery gear in the back.
