How much did it cost btw ?
Sorry for the thread Hijack Mick ;)
Back to the original question of what else to do...
Get the clutch release fork re-inforced while it's out. As they're pressed out of butter, the slave cylinder has an annoying habit of punching a hole through it. :eek:

Hi Guys, would you please mind editing your posts as karcraft has asked that we dont post their prices - or in fact mention them out "loud" in posts... they are a wholesale parts supplier to repairers and by mentining them out loud we are jeopardising their buisness with repairers.... which as they are their man income could in the long term mean they lose the door to the general public - or institute a trade prices to trade only setup.... sorry to come the heavy but we have been making the most of their discounts for ages, and dont want to ruin it for all
if you want to talk karcraft pricing please do it im PM
Mick
Did I read somewhere the release fork should be replaced when doing the clutch? or does it not even survive normal clutch life anyway?
other posts, re price;
Have I simply lost touch with what repair places charge? or is that price a bit nuts?
Best regards
DarrenR
G'day Folks :)
Please take heed of what Landrovermick has posted, as Karcraft do the right thing by AULROites so please return the favour a keep it private, "Loose Lips will Kill these Deals"
cheers
UPDATE: New clutch in plus fly wheel needed replacing also. A few $ later and she is running like new with a nice soft clutch pedal which engages nicely. Also found out I had a wading plug in the bottom of the car:eek: Had never heard about this apart from a recent thread, but was informed by the mechanic that it was in (he took it out and an egg cup of water fell out). I have had the car for 3 years and never taken this plug out and have done every conceivable type of 4x4 including mud bogs, water etc etc - lucky it was in for this but wondering if by having it in the whole time this would affect anything either wear and tear or drivability?
Aye, Mick
Wading plug is only a problem when it allows oil (or water - but neither are supposed to be able to get in) to accumulate to a level that contaminates the clutch. I leave mine in but religiously remove it every service - probably slightly risky, but I have, until the current drought, regularly driven through water.
