join from bullbar to side steps, brush bars.

    Hi Guys,

Hoping someone here has a little more knowledge than me..

I've managed to get hold of some side steps or brush bars for the defender, the type attach to the bull bar, and then run down over the wheel arch, and along the side of the vehicle.

Teh trouble is, I dont have the parts that clamp around the bull bar. I'm told they are standard scaffolding parts, but after poking around the web 'm having no luck locating them.

Any have any idea what they are called, or where I can get them from (in melbourne).

    thanks in advance

    Dave

They are called Downee Tees. There is another brand name that I can't think of at the moment, but you can get them from Bunnings or any other place that sells fencing materials as they are used for making chain wire fences.

I can get em form bunnings? Excellent.. fantastic. I was trying to work out how in the hell to get to a place during work hours. If they have them at bunnings I can go after work and get em. Bloody Marvellous.

    Thanks mate..

    Hi guys,

No luck... I'm hoping someone can recognise this wosname on the end and suggest a join. Actually, I'm really hoping I've understood how to link pics on here.

    Thanks in advance

it looks like they had a different mount to the bullbar, you still should be able to get a Downee fitting that will clamp the end of that pipe to your bullbar, you may just have to grind off that lug and remove the bolt. You are essentially just joining two pieces of pipe together and thats what Downees do.
