Just wondering which would be stronger LT230T or taper roller LT95?

I don't really know, but would put my money on the LT95 - it was designed as a military gearbox (101), and the unitary construction with the gearbox should make the whole setup stiffer. But I think there would be very little in it. Neither seems to be regarded as weak.

lt95 strongest gearbox, lt230 strongest transfer.
plenty of 230's in buggies here and crawlers in the states.
shame there isn't a tough (well tougher than a r380) rover gearbox to put in front of the lt230.
even with the roller taper conv. the inbuilt transfer is the weaker part of the lt95.
saying that lt77, r380, lt95 and rover 4sp auto all finished top 10 in the OBC over the years.

I've heard the LT230 compared favourably with an Atlas t/case by the Yanks, it's just the course spline input that lets it down.
