Question Where to mount the Codan in 98 defender

Thought I would probably mount the main unit under back seat but does anyone have any suggestions/pics of the best position for the remote head unit.
    Thanks,

I built a shelf across the roof behind and above the drvr/pax heads. I fitted my radio/cassette (inc spkrs), HF radio (main unit, spkr & head) and some aux electrical stuff. Still have room for other odds and ends up there. Since I only ever use the HF when in camp having the mike, spkr & head up behind my head is no big deal.

The shelf frame also does double duty to stregthen the roof above the rear doors to help carry the roof rack, which in turn is supported by four square 25mm tubes dropping down and forward to a cross member fitted between the B pillars. This arrangment is my load barrier, roof support and also accomodates a removable shelf that forms the front section of the sleeping platform/cargo platform. Under the shelf you can fit 6 jerricans of water and fuel very low down in the vehicle. If any one wants more pics, send me a PM.

G'day All, My Codan remote head is on top of the dash with the speaker down in front of it, the transceiver is mounted sideways (vertically) over the LHS wheelbox, it has a stiffening panel that has 3 blind rivets to the outside that attach it to the bodywork, it's out of the way and so far has not been wet cheers Dennis
PS I bought the unit new in 1991 and it has not given any trouble at all. The vehicle is a 1984 110 County she is ancient but still goes trouble free at 23 years old no fancy elektrickity in it, LOL.

In my 98 disco, I mounted the transceiver vertically to the panel behind the lh wheel arch (trim removed). The remote on the centre console, near the cig lighter. The speaker to the rear of the overhead console, on centreline.
