Maybe it was originally stamped 8.13 then overstamped with 9.35, making the 5 over the 3 look like 8. If so, then perhaps a production line correction.

Nope, because the 38 is crystal clear and there is no 1 running throught the 3.

Mines a low compression motor (2000 Model) and i wouldnt want it any other way! The old bent 8 ain't exactly the most frugal motor and the thought of 90 litres of premium petrol doesn't appeal to the wallet in the slightest.

You gain (from memory) 5kw or approx 6hp with the high compression motor and if you put standard fuel in it she will retard the timing to stop pinging and hence your way further down than the low compression motor.

You will gain more power simply by turning the aircon off :)

I wonder what compression you can run before the valves start hitting the pistons? I hear 12:1 is the max for LPG? :)

I am planning on running the Rangie ute I am building on straight gas. I was recommended (not by a profesional) to take the compression to at least 10:1.

AFAIK, you should have a high comp motor in such a late D2.
