I would have thought the engine would have got warmer with the air on as it has to work harder and the radiator for the air is right in front of the engine rad so it would get heat dissipation from the air radiator?

I'm sure that last time my RR overheated I turned the air off and it improved slightly.

Do you have your air-con fans running a switch so you don't need the air on at the same time?

All you guys with thermo fans.
What did you do with the aircon fans?
It seems to me with 4 on you would be drawing 80 amps. ie hot day aircon on , crawling in traffic.
And the aircon fans are primarily to force air through the condenser, but do help with cooling.
I wonder if you could dispense with the aircon fans?
Although you would have to then make sure there is a complete good seal between the rad and the condensor.
In these days of very expensive fuel, I am relooking at anything to reduce usage on my 3.9 RRC.

Has anyone found a supplier of a similar kit here is Australia. eg. a 38mm hose adapter with a boss that fits a dual temperature thermo switch.

The concept is easy, but I really dont want to **** about with making sure the adapter has the right thread size etc. for the thermo switch. If someone has already done this, and is willing to impart their knowledge I would be extremely grateful.

    Thanks in advance.
Hey Jayk, sounds like a great Idea, I have twin ford fans on my LSE and the work great but would live to dice the Davies craig tem swith thing in the rad hose and have something more professional.

A diagnosticians nightmare...believe me! XD Four relays for two fans? What were they thinking?

I do like electric fans. I do keep my viscous coupling one though. Mainly because most electics fans have an aversion to mud. I love mud. Means we are at odd with each other!

Personally, I'd go one either side! And stick with two fans! Have one sucking and one blowing. Most condensers are cross flow anyways, so you put the fan on the -hot- side.
