Dunno about the odometer, just mentioning what I saw. Defenders tend to have hard lives, and it's best to be ruthless in your scrutiny when purchasing.

It says it's a 200Tdi in the Ad. I'd have thought $13,000 was a bit pricey for a 1993 model even with a winch and twin fuel tanks but it depends a lot on the Kms (which curiously they don't mention:p). Although the price does say negotiable. That rusting fairlead is a bit of a concern i.e. what else up front is rusted?
If it were me I'd negotiate! Good luck.
i say its a good price, if the condition is good or better.
in melb it would easily get 13k, espec with winch, twin tanks.
if it was at the auctions with a light roll on the side it would still get 7-8k.
comes down to mechanical condition, or should i say wear.
flanges, diff centres, transfer/certre diff, lt77 should have mainshaft oiler conversion(check service records) rust in chassis, firewall, door frames.
a pre purchase inspection by a rover workshop would be the sealer.;)

ps rusty fairlead means its been used and check k's. you only usually see utes with no accessories in the 10-13k range.
I paid a bit less for my '94, which was in good condition for the year save one spot of rust, but that didn't have a winch or extra tank, but did have a full length alloy roofrack.
Can anyone recommend somewhere to get a pre-purchase inspection near Burpengary? Just had a quick peekin your supliers section, most of you seem pretty happy with M R Automotive at Redcliffe. Is there anywhere closer to Burpengary?
PS,what's the fairlead? I assume it's the rusty bar you can see on the front of the winch? Hope this isn't to stupid a question ...
the rollers on the bullbar that direct the winch line/wire onto the drum.

Dont forget the timing belt.;)
It would want to be in good nick for that price.

Yeah, I've had a look at Redbook, but I generally don't have too much faith in their prices. They often seem to be wide of the mark, in either direction. That's why I asked you guys! :D

PS Was busy sanding our deck today, and probably going to be busy tomorrow, so doesn't looklike I'm going to get to see it this weekend. Hope it lasts till next weekend ...
