    202 in a Series 3 clutch question

I have an S3 with a 202 motor and have just removed the gearbox in order to renew the clutch.

Am I looking for a new 202 fricton plate and series 3 thrust bearing ???

Other than taking the old bits to a clutch specialist any ideas what I need to get ?

It depends on which kit. Some use the LR clutch others the Holden.

Yes thanks guys. It definitely looks to be one of those things that depends on who did it originally.

Mine appears to be all LR bits.

Does anyone have a part number for a suitable bearing for the throw out. The part number is too worn down for me to read.

I was staggered by the price my clutch specialist wanted for the whole throw out part (plastic carrier + bearing) $85 no less.
I'm presuming SKF or CBC will be able to provide the bearing alone for much less than that.

One of the problems of engine conversions is that by the time replacement parts are needed, particularly if it has changed hands, there is no record of what parts were used, and this is a prime example! It is likely that the pressure plate and driven plate are either Landrover or Holden, and it is possible that the withdrawal race is one of them as well, but there is a possibility that all three components are from some other vehicle. The only real solution is to take the old components to a supplier and match them with new ones. You may have to go a couple of suppliers (a Landrover supplier is more likely to recognise Holden parts than vice versa) before getting a good answer. If you fill in your location, maybe someone can make suggestions.
