Is there an address for this more deserving business??
so whats wrong with just drilling and putting a couple of recovery hooks onto your chassis? cost you about $20ea inc bolts
Go the bolt on. You should never weld added bits and pieces to the chassis.
Send a PM to Dranged on this Forum. He has a couple of options for a D2.
You usually can't get the correct angle in a recovery with just a shackel if you have a bull bar. You need to lower the point of attatchment as low as possible.. but not lower than hub level. Too high and you do a wheele and risk breaking stuff too low and you will be driven down further into the crud increasing the load on the snatch. I have 2 options on my disco for 2 different situations. 2 bull bar mounted swivel shackles bolted in the same line as the chassie, reinforced by a 5mm steel plate bolted to the chassie ( Very tough) I use this in mud to get a small amount of up lift to pop out of the crud. and winching with a pully block. The other recovery points are very similar to the ones in the first thread. Used for general snatches.
Go the Blues.
