Until the oil companies like shell and caltex wake up and buy the hiclone manufacturing company out, then take the product off the market, then Oil company shareholders can again reap the profits of motorists having to GAS Guzzle once again

I went and had a look at the Hiclone website: http://www.fuelsaver.com.au

I am a now a believer. How could you make that stuff up?

This is how their website makes it seem so clear:

"Hiclone maximizes the airflow and gathers fuel to the center of the air stream, then rapidly moves it to the combustion chamber preventing the adhering of particles to the wall of the intake system. Swirling fast-burn, near-complete combustion increases power output."

Basically they say by putting an old beer can or two in the air intake, they can create a swirling motion inside the combustion chamber that burns 85% of the fuel instead of 60% of the fuel. Funny in seems to work with much the same results whether it is carby, throttle body injection, multi point injection, low pressure or high pressure diesel injection, lpg, cng and possibly chardonnay. 1 works well, 2 works better, they recommend fitting up to 6 on some cars.

So on a V8 where would I fit them if I was to fit one at the air intake at the throttle body it would swirl the air around but when the 'swirling air' hits the trumpets in the plenum it must stop swirling to some extent. So I would therefore need to attach extra hiclones to the trumpets to swirl the air further. But then as the swirling air moves to each manifold inlet hits the inlet sides and unswirls or swirls counter clockwise.
I think I'd be better off with that other gadget that connects to the fuel injector tips and heats up the fuel at the momnet it squirts and the heat is supposed to atomize the fuel even more and gives better power and fuel economy.
Or that plutonium catylist pill that you put in your fuel line

Someone is sitting in a bloody big house with a couple of nice cars because of these. Fair play to him.

Or maybe he does belive they work

Just visited the Hiclone Australia site.
The reason Hiclones don't work on some vehicles and will work on another vehicle of the same make is explained on their site.
Basically the reason given is on the state of the tune, apparantly you need to tune your vehicle to optimum runnning condition for Hiclones to work.
Me thinks sure if you tuned your vehicle of course it would use less fuel.
So a vehicle without a hiclone that is correctly tuned will give you better milage anyway.

    Quote from their explanation:

    When Does Hiclone Not Work?
Why does the same part work on one car and not work on another same model car? The reason is normally related to Air/Fuel ratio or engine tune. Hiclone increase's airflow at all times by up to 21%. The only time Hiclone can’t work is when there is a mechanical, electrical or fuel system problem. This means the engine is un-able to match the air/fuel ratio to the increase in airflow generated by the Hiclone product. If you add a lot of products to a car to increase airflow through the inlet or exhaust, at some point you will need to add more fuel to match (eg: in the UK if you fit a sports air filter to SU carbs you need to use richer needles). But this can be fixed. This is also why the first Hiclone usually saves more fuel than the second; it has access to the most un-burnt fuel. It is also why we offer the 30-day money back guarantee, so you have the choice to either have the problem fixed and save more money, or get your money back.
The rule is that any engine is only as efficient as the amount of fuel it can completely burn per combustion stroke and convert into power (torque), the more air per combustion stroke, with the correct air/fuel ratio, the bigger the bang and the right foot spends less time on the pedal.

I thought they came with a gerbel inside which ran around it, making it spin and that created the swerling effect

And here it is - New from Hiclone - Version 3

Also possible to replace engine with 8 of these in 2 rows of 4 then put cat in front seat to scare mice to run faster thus increasing performance and getting better mileage per kilo of cheese.
